Petrol price up for 6th day

State-owned oil marketing companies (OMCs) raised petrol prices for the sixth consecutive day across all metros on Tuesday, but left diesel rates unchanged.

According to the IOCL website, the price of petrol in the national capital was increased by 11 paise to Rs 81.73 per litre. Petrol prices have now risen in nine of the last 10 days.

After Tuesday’s rate revision, petrol price in Dimapur rose to Rs.87.04 per litre while in the state capital petrol was retailing at Rs.87.93 per litre. A litre of diesel in Dimapur and Kohima remained at Rs.79.42 and Rs.80.13 respectively.

Currently, OMCs review domestic petrol and diesel prices on a daily basis, and implement any changes with effect from 6 am every day. 

According to reports, benchmark Brent crude has remained firm and contracts for November delivery on intercontinental exchange has risen to $ 45.75 a barrel.
