Advisor of legal metrology & consumer protection, food & civil supplies, Phukayi Sumi on Thursday launched the E-Daakhil portal at NIC Secretariat Kohima. 

Speaking at the launching programme, Phukayi Sumi stated that the portal was a solution to end the dominance of traders on consumers. Asserting that it was a necessary step implemented to protect the citizens, Phukayi expressed gratitude to the NIC team, New Delhi for coming up with the portal which would give provision for e-filing of consumer complaints in the consumer commission and online payment of fees

Nagaland Voluntary Consumers’ Organisation (NVCO) president Kezhokhoto Savi said that people lacked awareness but the Consumer Protection Act 2019 has now paved a way by providing an alternate mechanism to resolve disputes and establish mediation cell that would connect the districts and state commission. 

He said that currently the portal was active in over 400 locations and functioning across 15 states and UT’s.

An overall glimpse of the portal was presented by NIC HQ team, Ravindra Kumar. The programme was also attended by senior technical director of NIC through video conferencing along with DCF Mon and Zunheboto, NIC Dimapur and DCDRF Mokokchung.
