RD deptt bids farewell to outgoing director

Rural development (RD) department organised a farewell programme for its outgoing director, Imnukshila Jamir on March 4, 2021 at the conference hall of RD directorate. 

A press release by the department stated that Congratulating the officer on her retirement, minister for RD, Metsubo Jamir commended her for being calm, collected and efficient and lauded her for managing and carrying forward the department successfully during the pandemic.

He recalled the outgoing director as the lady officer who was posted in almost all the districts and had done all her assignments diligently. 

Expressing joy to be back in the department to bid farewell to his junior, the RD minister also hoped that the future directors would follow her footsteps and emulate her work ethics. Commissioner & secretary, RD, Neposo Theluo described the outgoing director as a humble and approachable officer and congratulated her on her successful completion of 35 years of illustrious government service.

He noted that Jamir carried out her duties efficiently despite challenges and problems.

Meanwhile in her farewell speech, the outgoing director thanked all ranks of officers and staff for being supportive and cooperative and for allowing her to carry out official duties thus achieving many goals.

She further hoped that the same cooperation would be provided to her successors while also extending her continuous prayers and support for the department. 

Earlier, the programme was chaired by director, RD, Liboni Humtsoe while vote of thanks was delivered by joint director, G. Thong. Others who spoke at the occasion were President, NRDSA, K. Neibou Sekhose, Mission Director, NSRLM, Imtimenla, registrar on behalf of ministerial staff, Kikrvculhounuo Solo and PD, DRDA Mokokchung, M. Toshimongla on behalf of DRDAs and blocks.

It may be noted that Imnukshila Jamir joined the government service under the erstwhile state rural development agency (SRDA) on March 1, 1986 as assistant project officer. During the absorption of SRDA employees to rural development department, she was engaged as assistant director. She took over as the first woman director of RD on October 1, 2019 and attained her retirement on February 28, 2021.
