State chief minister, Neiphiu Rio, Thursday launched the Nagaland COVID-19 information app at the War Room, Nagaland Civil Secretariat, Kohima.

According to an official bulletin, the chief minister, while speaking at the launch event, congratulated the department of information technology & communication for successfully developing and launching the much-needed COVID-19 information app. He said that the app would greatly help the citizens in gathering accurate information related to COVID-19.

Lamenting that misinformation and false speculations were hampering the state’s fight against Covid especially the vaccination drive, the chief minister expressed hope that with the launch of the app all required information related to COVID-19 would be easily accessible to all the citizens and dispel doubts.

Stressing on the need to educate the public, Rio said that the dissemination of proper and accurate data and information was vital in ensuring that the State successfully contained the Covid-19 situation.

The chief minister maintained that the State was on a par with other states in the field of Information Technology and acknowledged the efforts of the people manning the War Room, who have been working tirelessly for the past few months.

Rio also made an impromptu call to the Mon District Covid-19 helpline and talked with the personnel managing the Covid-19 crisis in the district regarding the overall Covid status there. He also asked them if they had any grievances that the government could look into.

Nagaland Covid-19 information app is developed and maintained by the state department of information technology & communication for the State Covid-19 War Room. The main objective of the app is to provide Covid-19 information including hospital bed status to the citizens.

Besides, it provides contact information at all levels of management of Covid-19 in the State to assist the citizen to quickly get help during times of emergencies.

The mobile app, a minimized version of the Nagaland Covid-19 dashboard portal, provides information related to Covid-19.

Launched on December 3,1990. Nagaland Post is the first and highest circulated newspaper of Nagaland state. Nagaland Post is also the first newspaper in Nagaland to be published in multi-colour.
