Seminar on livelihood and skills training

 Noklak Police in collaboration with department of Agriculture, Noklak, Khiamniungan Baptist Church Association and OST centre conducted a seminar on livelihood and skills training on September 19. 

According to a press release, the seminar was held to motivate persons undergoing de-addiction and rehabilitation where participants were taught various skills on vericompost, farming and apiculture.

With a long history of the drug menace in Noklak, SP Noklak, Dr. Pritpaul Kaur mentioned that it was on the agenda list of Noklak Police, to help out people on drug problem. 

With the police conducting raids and following legal procedures, Dr. Kaur expressed that the next step for real reformation for people in drug addiction must be dealt in an innovative approach where they can move ahead in their lives and career after completing their treatment. 

Training on apiculture, vermicompost and farming were performed by department of Agriculture, Noklak, Cholen. He explained that vermicompost and honey bee rearing was one of the easiest and most cost effective skills which does not require big farm lands and provides good earning as well. 

OST TI project manager, J Khumong encouraged participants to learn and earn their livelihood in the best way they can.

KBCA finance secretary, Samuel motivated participants with Bible verses, while short speeches were delivered by Thang village council chairman and TRPO president. 

Earlier, the seminar was chaired by Noklak police UBSI, Mongthei Lam. 100 persons under rehabilitation treatment attended the seminar.
