Sikkim’s biggest Tourism extravaganza which is the “Red Panda Tourism Carnival” has been postponed due to global scare of coronavirus Covid-19 pandemic, reports The Northeast Today. The said event was slated in mid April 2020.

Red Panda Tourism Carnival 2020 was proposed for Soreng Chakung Constituency West Sikkim under Patronship of Area MLA Aditya Golay also son of present CM PS Golay.

MLA Aditya Golay said, “For your kind information the Red Panda Festival which was scheduled for April now hereby stands postponed due to the epidemic of ConVid 19 in the country and the neighbouring countries. As much as I personally want it to happen in April but at the same time we cannot take the risk as it would be fatal if the outbreak occurs. Taking into consideration all these matters and the notifications received from the Union Ministries I think it would be best if we postpone it.”

He further added that I would like all to share this message to your near and dear ones who were excited for the festival. We will now prepare for the next date when the Virus subsides.
