State COVID-19 tally now 902

With six more COVID-19 positive cases reported from Dimapur on Wednesday, the state’s total tally crossed the 900-mark, while one each from Dimapur and Kohima recovered from the infection.

In a tweet, Health minister S. Pangnyu Phom said out of 170 samples, 6 had tested positive for COVID-19 in Dimapur. 

All the positive persons were receiving medical care at the designated COVID-19 hospitals and COVID Care Centres and active surveillance and contact tracing was in progress to prevent further spreading of the infection. 

Further, Pangnyu also said that two patient-- one each from Kohima and Dimapur had recovered.

“We are monitoring the recovered patients under close observation,” he added. With this the total number cases in the state stood at 902-- 554 active and 348 recovered.

As per the severity of symptoms, 539 active cases were asymptomatic and 15 with mild symptoms.

Meanwhile, till July 15, a total of 17,127 samples were sent for testing through RT-PCR and results of 16,802 were received. In addition, a total of 10,895 samples were also sent for testing on TrueNat. 10278 samples tested negative, and 327 samples tested positive which have been sent for confirmation by RT-PCR.
