State COVID tally crosses 400-mark

Nagaland COVID-19 positive cases crossed the 400-mark on Sunday after 28 fresh cases were reported from various quarantine centres across the state. With this, the state’s totally tally as on June 28 stood at 415-- 251 active cases and 164 recovered.

According to state Health and Family Welfare minister, S. Pangnyu Phom the 28 fresh positives cases were reported from 624 samples that were sent for testing. He said that 20 patients were from Dimapur quarantine centre (QC), 3 from Kohima QC, 2 from Peren QC and 3 from Mon QC. 

All the positive persons have been shifted to the designated COVID-19 Hospitals for treatment. 

As per the severity of symptoms, all the 251 active cases were asymptomatic, principal secretary Home Abhijit Sinha said in his daily briefing. 

As per the distribution of the 415 cases by age, Sinha said that 4 cases were between 0-17 years, 396 cases between 18-44 years, 13 cases between 45-64 years and 2 cases between 65-74 years.

Out of 11,449 samples that were sent for testing till June 28, Sinha said 7,794 samples were received at the BSL-3 lab at Naga Hospital Authority Kohima (NHAK), where 7,315 samples were tested. Out this, he said 341 tested positive. 

Further, 4,548 samples had been tested by TrueNat, out of which 108 tested positive and sent for confirmation by RT-PCR, he added.
