State level appellate MCMC constituted

Ahead of the by-election to the 51 Noksen (ST) assembly constituency, the state level appellate Media Certification and Monitoring Committee (MCMC) has been constituted.

According to DIPR report, the committee would be headed by chief electoral officer (CEO) Nagaland, Abhijit Sinha as chairman and joint CEO Nagaland, Ruokuovituo Khezhie as member secretary.
Other members of the committee include IPR director, Z Tokishe Sema; one observer appointed by the ECI; assistant director PIB Kohima, K. Sonikumar Singh and journalist & president of Kohima Press Club, Alice Yhoshu. 
The state level appellate MCMC shall perform two sets of functions: deciding appeal from both district and additional CEO committees on certification of advertisement as per the commission order No.509/75/2004/JS-I dated April 15, 2004; examining all cases of paid news on appeal against the decision of district MCMC or cases taken up suomotu, in which case it shall direct the concerned ROs to issue notices to the candidate.
