All Nchangram Students Union (ANSU), Zeme Students Union Nagaland (ZSU-N) and Tening Students Union (TSU) have reiterated its March 14, 2021 demand for repair and renovation of the 52-km dilapidated road from Peren to Tening with black-topping before the onset of rainy season within 30 days.

In a joint statement, ANSU president Kibouwi Zeliang and general secretary Dithu Newmai, ZSU (N) president Aakam Pame and general secretary Deichungbe Zeme and TSU president Ngauphutlak Nrak and general secretary Kewiphibang Kambutta expressed displeasure over the failure of the concerned department to “dispense concrete assurance”.

The student bodies warned that it would not hesitate to execute their “volitional course of action” immediately after the ongoing closure of government offices and vehicles in Peren district, spearheaded by United Zeliangrong Youth Federation (UZYF), was successfully called off.

The unions have also called upon various civil society organisations, student forums, youth organisations and intellectuals to render their unwavering support and cooperation to objectively materialise the demand in a true spirit of democracy.

The unions also informed that the “modus operandi” of execution through peaceful and democratic means would be made known to the respective federating unit president forums/youth organisations falling within the ambit of Peren-Tening. It also warned to take action against any defaulter(s) found infringing with the joint directive
