A new private library, “library-cum-theological research consultancy” was launched Tuesday at Mokokchung, Dilong Ward, below MMC Shopping Complex.

Speaking at the launching programme, proprietress of the library, Dr. I Asongla Pongen who is a retired theology teacher shared that having spent her life teaching, she wanted to help students, scholars and researchers in their academic pursuit and that her library was unlike general libraries as it had a rather theological approach where dissertations, thesis writing, methodology etc were sourced, in order to aid students who were pursuing theology.

She further said that the library would offer ordering of books besides guidance to students opting for higher theological studies and that the library would remain open even on Saturdays as most students have outings on Saturday.

Dr. I Asongla Pongen stated that the library was a not a profit-oriented one as it would offer free services for reading the books. She added that she was dedicated to help students through the knowledge and resources she had.

She informed that the library houses about 1116 books, 28 guided theses for MTh level and 49 BD theses and 78 other research/thesis. However, she added that more books were on transit.

Earlier, dedicatory payer for the library was offered by Rev. Dr. M. Rongsen Longkumer.

Launched on December 3,1990. Nagaland Post is the first and highest circulated newspaper of Nagaland state. Nagaland Post is also the first newspaper in Nagaland to be published in multi-colour.
