Three-month skill development programme concludes

A three-month vocational skill development programme sponsored by National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL), PMU-Dimapur in collaboration with Construction Industry Development Council (CIDC) for local youth at Peren Kipeuzang village concluded with a closing programme at Peren Kipeuzang village council hall on April 20.

In a press release, media secretary, Peren Kipeuzang village, Keyi Sephe stated that the program was chaired by Peren village council chairman Mireulung Sephe and certificate was handed to the trainees by special guest, additional deputy commissioner (ADC) Peren, K. Mhathung Tsanglao.

Speaking at the programme, the ADC encouraged trainees to espouse dignity of labor and to take up challenges in various field of constructions which would help their living standard as well as boost the state’s economy.

The closing programme was also attended by extra assistant commissioner Peren, Seyievilie, Peren Kipeuzang village chairman, Heisolu Sephe, GBs, women leaders of Peren Kipeuzang village, NHIDCL manager Amit Kumar, CIDC coordinator Arvind Yadav, DCM Mayashel construction Aditya Sharma and officials from various companies.

It may be mentioned that the training was inaugurated on January 25 by DC Peren Sentiwapang Aier.

The class began with 30 unemployed and school dropout youth for “general work supervisor” subject covering basic fundamental knowledge on civil engineering (theory and practical), cost estimation, construction work, etc., where attendees received various incentives.

Meanwhile, the organisers hoped to provide employment to the unemployed local youth and school dropouts in various ongoing projects of NHIDCL and other infrastructure development works in the state, with an aim to promote their livelihoods.
