TNSA flays deployment of troops in Naga SAZ

DIMAPUR, JUL 24 (NPN) | Publish Date: 7/24/2020 2:16:53 PM IST

Tangshang Naga Student’s Association (TNSA) Myanmar has strongly condemned the deployment of thousands of Burmese military troops in Naga Self-Administrated Zone (SAZ) such as Nanyun Township, Donhe sub-township and Pangsaung sub-township and demanded immediate withdrawal of the troops.

In a press release, TNSA vice president Yangring Hangmu and information secretary Mowang expressed shock that Myanmar military junta was campaigning in Naga SAZ to operate against the Naga national group at Nanyun Township amidst COVID-19 pandemic.

As the humanity, at this point in time, needed more love and care than ever before, TNSA said every government was concerned over how to protect their citizens from the deadly coronavirus.

However, TNSA said that the Myanmar government, instead of providing foods and medicines to fight against the COVID-19, was deploying thousands of soldiers in Naga soil and “ready to confront with the NSCN/GPRN at this period of time.”

Reminding the Myanmar government that Naga people had experienced enough of untold sufferings and hardships for several decades due to aggressive actions of the Burma military, the Naga student body said the scars and stigma were still fresh in the minds of the people.
