Tovihoto inaugurates power office in Peren

Advisor for power, H. Tovihoto Ayemi inaugurated the new executive engineer (E) power office building for Peren division on April 12.

According to DIPR report, during the inaugural programme, special guest H. Tovihoto Ayemi urged the public to take care of the properties with a sense of belongingness, adding that the new building was one of the finest amongst the office buildings. 

Advisor for water resources, Namri Nchang also warned for theft of power and appealed to the public to utilise the electricity judiciously.

In his speech chief engineer (D&R), Moa Aier said that the new office building was located at a prime location with various facilities and appealed to the public to extend their cooperation in their future endeavors.

Engineer-in-chief (power), N. Mozhui also spoke on the need of the department for sufficient power supply.

Principal secretary, power, KD Vizo said that the state has to strive for sustainable development goals and encouraged private enterprises to come forward in the ventures of the government.

Vizo also suggested for alternative power such as solar and wind. He called upon the people to understand the difficulties faced by the department in times of natural calamities.

He further lamented on the reluctance of the public in paying the electric bills. 

In the technical report, additional chief engineer (civil), Visakho Therie informed that it took 32 months for completion for the building.

He said that the building was constructed at a cost of Rs. 3.11 crore which included electrification, water and rain harvest. He added that the construction for building has no liability.

Earlier, additional chief engineer (D&R), Tiameren Walling presided the programme while additional chief engineer (T&G) PenrithungYanthan delivered the welcome address.

Later, vote of thanks was proposed by executive engineer (E) Tsiamchi Ndang.

The programme was attended by former speaker Neiba Ndang, deputy commissioner and additional superintendent of police and head of the various departments in the district along with public leaders.
