Two more BSF troopers tests positive for COVID-19 in M’laya

Two more Border Security Force (BSF) troopers tested positive for COVID-19 in Meghalaya on Sunday taking the total tally to 50.

Within a span of two days, three BSF troopers have tested positive with the first case detected on Saturday.

Health and Family Welfare Minister, Alexander Laloo Hek said that one of the infected troopers had returned to the State from Haryana on June 26 and another is a driver engaged in transporting troopers from Assam to BSF Meghalaya Frontier Headquarters.

 “Both troopers are asymptomatic and are now admitted at the isolation ward of the composite BSF hospital,” he said, adding that the BSF is tracing the contact of the troopers.

  With the new two fresh positive cases, Meghalaya has 7 active cases, 42 recovered and one death.
