While appreciating the state government’s endeavour in fighting against the COVID-19, the United Sangtam Students’ Conference (USSC) has appealed the government to roll back the COVID-19 cess on petrol and diesel hike.

In a press release, USSC vice president Sethrongba Y. Yingbithongrü general secretary, Selicho T. Sangtam stated that additional taxes have burdened the common people during this crucial point of time.
It further urged the state government to be more responsible as the state government was receiving enough funds from the central government to curb the COVID-19 pandemic, whereby it was “not necessary at any longer to rely upon the public hard earned money to meet the state financial exigencies in any manner.”
