VAC reports highlighted at Kohima DPDB meeting

Kohima district planning and development board (DPDB) held its first meeting for the year at DPDB’s conference hall Kohima on January 15, with advisor of Urban Development and Municipal Affairs, Dr. Niekiesalie Nicky Kire and advisor to CM, Technical Education and Election, Medo Yhokha, chaired by deputy commissioner and vice chairman DPDB, Mohammed Ali Shihab A.

According to DIPR report, meeting reviewed the last meeting minutes followed by agenda on Village Adoption Committee (VAC). DPO and member secretary DPDB, Pudusul Lugo informed that the activities of VAC for the year (2019-2020) and (2020-2021) will culminate on March 31, 2021. He therefore requested the committees to submit its report on or before March 31.

Giving the updates of committee’s activities, Dr. Nicky as the advisor of 9-Kohima Town A/C, shared some of his committee activities undertaken and also pointed out some area of concerns to be taken up under the adopted ward. 

Medo Yhokha who also attended the meeting for the first time, recalled his association with previous VACs under 14th Southern Angami-I A/C and appreciated the good works undertaken by the team despite with limited fund allotted to the VAC. Medo urged every committee to take responsibility in providing positive impacts to the society through their efforts and activities.

EE Power Kohima, Er. Ruokuongutuo Suohu and ADC Chiephobozou, Vekhoyi Chakhesang also gave brief reports on their committee activities of 8th Western Angami A/C and 11th Northern Angami A/C respectively. 

Meeting also took up the three applicants for registration of societies, where the house decided to take a call after the concerned screening committee re-verify and submit its report.

CMO Kohima, Dr. Vezokholu briefed the members on the updates of Covid status as per its evolving situation. WHO consultant, Dr. Shila also gave a powerpoint presentation on the overview of COVID-19 vaccine introduction.
