Nagaland thrashed Sikkim by 98 runs in Round 1, Plate match of the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2020-21 at the TI Cycles Ground, Murugappa, Chennai on Sunday.

Put into bat, led by half centuries from Sedezhalie Rupreo and Jonathan Rongsen, Nagaland scored 310/8 in 50 overs. Sedezhalie missed century by one run while Jonathan scored 92 runs. Hem Bahadur Chetri remained not out on 44 runs while Chetan Bist and Stuart Binny scored 18 and 16 runs respectively. For Sikkim, Nitesh, Varun Sood and Rajiv took two wickets while Anureet Singh claimed one wicket. 

In reply, led by three wickets haul by Hem Bahadur, Sikkim were bowled out for 212 runs in 49.2 overs. Robin Bist scored 72 runs while Nilesh Lamichaney and Anureet Singh made 37 and 20 runs. Khrievitso Kense, who was shortlisted in IPL auction, took wickets while Nagaho, Imliwati and Hokaito claimed one wicket each
