Capping a challenging season played amid a global pandemic, the NFC won the first-ever virtual Pro Bowl 32-12 over the AFC Sunday in a game played on the Madden 21 video game, with NFL players and celebrities at the controls.

Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray captained the NFC squad by running the team in the opening quarter by playing as himself. Murray led the NFC squad to a first-quarter touchdown and earned game MVP honors.

Murray handed the controls to NASCAR star Bubba Wallace, who powered the NFC offense to three touchdowns in the second quarter.

Seattle Seahawks safety Jamal Adams and former Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch ran the NFC for the final two quarters in the victory.

Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson started the game for the AFC in the first quarter and left trailing 7-6. He was followed by former NFL receiver Keyshawn Johnson, Tennessee Titans running back Derrick Henry and rapper Snoop Dogg.

Gamemaker EA Sports teamed with the NFL to set up a week of “Verzuz” matchups with celebrities, former NFL stars, current NFL players and streamers competing with the 2021 Pro Bowl rosters. Sunday’s virtual Pro Bowl replaced the originally scheduled game set in Las Vegas, ahead of Super Bowl LV in Tampa on Feb. 7.
