Virtual talk show on making a career in music industry held

 A virtual talk show on making a career in music industry was organized by District Administration & District Level Centre for Women - Mahila Shakti Kendra (BBBP), Phek on Wednesday.

The special guest Kailash Kher, spiritual & bollywood sufi singer, lyricist & music composer said one must earn heart and soul before they started earning through music. He noticed that there are still societies which failed to appreciate the profession due to lack of music industry and market in India.

He also suggested that the musicians should not limit themselves to the region but also explore others’ culture, talent in order to explore one’s happiness in learning music.

Recalling his past experiences, Kailash Kher said the musicians should uplift each other for them to excel and not limit oneself to its own comfort zone.

Kher advised the upcoming musicians to be disciplined and build a good character which can favour the artist in the long run. He also acknowledged the organisers for hosting such an event. Managing Director & Founder of Nagaland College of Music & Fine Arts, Vesato Theluo also advised the young upcoming musicians to learn their own indigenous music. While observing that Nagas have so many talented people but failed to focus on one genre, we want to do so many things and fail miserably, said Theluo.

Mercy Tetseo, musician, folk artist, and storyteller said there have been a lot of struggles through their journey despite the gloomy looks of the industry. She suggested that one should not only learn music but also appreciate apart from formal education they received from educational institutions.         (Correspondent)
