To facilitate upcoming sports persons in the Southern Angami region, advisor for youth resources and sports Er. Zale Neikha said the department of YRS had proposed a multipurpose hall in Viswema village at John Government Higher Secondary School. Neikha informed  the administrative approval was accorded by the Govt.of India, ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports and was currently under perusal for release of sanction.

He said this while speaking during platinum jubilee celebration of John Government Higher Secondary School, Viswema on Saturday.  The advisor said this was initiated to cater the need of the area as the Southern Angami region devoid of proper infrastructures. With the site selected at John Govt. Higher secondary School, he hoped it would serve to the benefit of the students and faculties of the school as well as the people of the region. The multipurpose hall once constructed will have a stage area of 200 Sq.ft and seating capacity of 3200 persons during sporting events, and the capacity will further increase to 5000 persons during cultural and social events, he informed.

With the fulfilment of this multipurpose hall to the youths, the advisor viewed the hall will make accessible training facilities to proficient young sports persons, and can also host important cultural and social events for the region.
