VWF holds 6th foundation day-cum-closing ceremony

Vivekananada Welfare Foundation (VWF) held its 6th foundation day and closing ceremony of youth festival on account of National Youth Day, 2021 at Durga Mandir auditorium, Old Daily Market, Dimapur on Sunday.

Organised under the theme, “Channelizing youth power for nation building”, the programme was attended by National People’s Party (NPP) state president and chairman of Livingstone Foundation, Dr Andrew Ahoto Sema as special guest and principal NEISSR and director Peace Channel, Dr. Fr CP Anto as guest of honour.

Dr. Andrew Ahoto in his speech said that the teachings of Vivekananda have blended well with the youths. Citing the life of Vivekandanda, Ahoto encouraged the youths to look up to some great personality as the mentor and find out the dynamism because God has made everybody unique with a purpose and all were equal. Sema also encouraged the youths not to feel inferior about themselves but to focus on their different talents and feel proud about it.  

Sema said that as the future generation, the youths needed to find out the difference between good and bad. Sema also spoke on the importance of skill and encouraged youths to think differently which would help them grow. He also launched VWF calendar during the celebration programme. 

Dr. Fr CP Anto in his speech encouraged the gathering to respect each other, to realize and retrospect the teachings of Vivekananada.

He encouraged the parents to understand the youths as they may be confused and to love them unconditionally. Anto also asked the youths to understand the generation gap between them and their parents. He asked them to convert their dream into reality, reality into action and reflection into happiness. 

Highlights of the programme included presentation of songs and cultural dances. Various competition, namely, best out of waste, shutter up and online speech competitions were organised online and winners were felicitated during the programme.
