WC, NNPGs hits out at Naga Hoho

DIMAPUR, AUG 6 (NPN) | Publish Date: 8/6/2020 12:10:15 PM IST

Launching a no holds barred attack on the Naga Hoho (NH), the Working Committee of Naga National Political Groups (WC, NNPGs) Thursday said NH has been “reduced to a relic with little or no hope of being revived.”

WC, NNPGs through its media cell said that the “epidemic proportion of indiscipline” has rendered NH “irreparable and irrelevant.”
WC said that the recent “insidious, prejudiced and incoherent” press statements emanating in the name of Naga Hoho revealed that “the seal, letterhead and the very soul of Naga Hoho has been sold and surrendered completely.” WC said it was “extremely disturbed” by the manner in which the “good name” of Naga Hoho was being “misused by a handful of disillusioned men driven by personal ambitions.”
Initially, NH was for all and never for few, WC said, adding that the hoho was not meant to be “a mouthpiece of one tribe, community or organisation.” WC said that the NH founders wanted the hoho to be the cynosure of all eyes, drawing attention of all Nagas in matters of Naga history, identity and political struggle.  WC, however, asserted that there had never been a mass based organisation in recent memory that “degenerated, rot, decayed and died as quickly as the Naga Hoho.” It alleged that “a gang of covetous men” have destroyed the foundation and tarnished the great vision of the founders of the NH.
