WSH supports CPO resolution

Western Sümi Hoho (WSH) Tuesday said it “fully supports and endorses” the resolution adopted by Chakhroma Public Organisation (CPO) not to recognise any non-indigenous inhabitant of Nagaland illegally acquiring landed property through sale or purchase under its jurisdiction and to treat such dealings as null and void.

WSH through its media cell said it “totally agrees” with CPO that some non-indigenous inhabitant of Nagaland, who were prohibited to acquire or possess any land by way of transfer, exchange, lease agreement or settlement by the Nagaland Land Revenue Regulation (Amendment Act) 1978, had been “illegally acquiring” landed property through sale and purchase in Dimapur district.

Stating that such dealings had also been taking place in Western Sumi jurisdiction, WSH said it would thoroughly check and nullify such dealings. Describing CPO’s resolution as “a very wise step” for posterity, the WSH said that it would also not recognise any past or future transfer of land by way of sale or otherwise. Further, WSH affirmed that setting up of any institution in Western Sumi jurisdiction would have to procure NOC from the hoho.
