Taking a step towards reconciliation, Yajang Village on April 15 handed over a Christian “heritage site”, a plot of land on bank of Tsürang River to Molungkimong Village.

A press release by Molungkimong Village Council (MVC) chairman, Imsu Tzudir informed that on the first trip of Dr. E. W. Clark to the Naga Hills with the gospel to Molungkimong (Dekahaimong), he spent the night of December 17, 1872 on the bank of Tsürang (Tiro River).
Since then, MVC said the plot, located in the “First Gospel Path” that runs from Sibsagar to Molungkimong, has been preserved as “heritage site” relating to the advent of Christianity in Nagaland.
MVC said a programme was held to mark the handing over of the site to Molungkimong on the bank of Tsürang River.
To mark the event, Rev. Yapang planted a sapling on the boundary of the “heritage site” and prayed for both the villages. The programme was attended by Church workers, village statesmen and elders of Molungkimong and Yajang villages.
