Yongshei and Yachem villages hold peace meet

People of Yongshei and Yachem village ended their “traditional conflict” through a joint peace meet at Yongshei village on March 11, 2021.

According to DIPR report, the peace meet was aimed to establish cordial relationships and to foster the spirit of oneness between the two villages.
Addressing the peace meeting, minister of health & family welfare (H&FW), Nagaland, S Pangnyu Phom encouraged the people to uphold the meet in the right direction for the welfare of the people and thanked the village councils and the people in taking the step with a Christian spirit.
DC Longleng, M Shayung Phom also encouraged the people to bear the spirit of oneness at all times wherever they were. 
Others who spoke at the meet were Sangti Head Barrick Yachem village, Yongshei village former council chairman, Hamnyei, Yongshei citizens president L. Bu-an Phom, deputy director (Horti) C. Phupom Phom and Phom Baptist Christian Association (PBCA) executive secretary, Tialemba Phom.
Special prayer of peace was said by Phom Baptist Attoi, Dimapur, senior Pastor, C. Hamba Nemdakly. As a sign of unity for peace, Holy Bible was exchanged between the two villages by Yachem Baptist Church Attoi pastor, Rev. Adai and Yongshei Baptist Church Attoi, pastor Issac Keikung. 
Earlier, the programme was moderated by associated pastor women Yongshei and Yachem Henuh and Hongla, invocation by YBCA Issac Keikung, welcome address by Yongshei village council chairman B. Nokthai and special prayer by Noksosang Baptist Attoi, pastor Rev. TI Lakba. 
It may be mentioned that the peace meet was established through the initiative of both the village councils after many decades.
