Zapami Village Community (ZVC) burial ground was inaugurated on December 18 by project director, District Rural Development Agency (DRDA) Phek, Keyirangding Hegui.

Addressing the gathering at Zapami heritage hall, Hegui expressed joy on the successful execution of the project, which was constructed under Mahatma Gandhi national rural employment guarantee act (MGNREGA).

He called upon villagers to continue to put concerted efforts for all round development of the community and maintained that every village in Nagaland had its own charm.

He said Zapami village with its scenic beauty, valley type paddy cultivation and its traditional practices had the potential as a tourist village. In this, he called upon the people to capitalise its rich resources to become a tourist hotpot in the coming days.

Zapami village development board (VDB) secretary, Kedoutsolhi Wetsah stated that the project was constructed at total cost of Rs. 29 lakh.

Earlier, the programme was chaired by Lhiwepe Khutsoh, Zapami Baptist Church pastor, Chikhro Khutso pronounced dedicatory prayer, Zapami Village Community chairman, Zewekha Wetsah delivered welcome address, vote of thanks by GB Wekhazii Kreo while BDO, Vekhrolo Koza also spoke on the occasion.
